Founder: Harv Phandal, MBA, CHRP

The real deal. Harv is a self-proclaimed avid reader and aspiring gourmet chef. She enjoys traveling, throwing parties, and spending time with her family. She’s also really into giving back and spends a lot of time contributing to her personal and professional communities. Ask her and she’ll tell you how she got involved.

The thrill. Manager Bootcamp is Harv’s vision. When she was first asked to teach a course it seemed like a good idea and a way to build her career. She quickly realized it was more than that, it was fun! She then realized it was more than fun, it was a calling! She actually needed to find a way to show people that good management was all about the basics. Once you master those, you can do anything! The more people she teaches, the more she wants to reach.

The credentials. Harv has over 12 years experience as an HR practitioner. She holds an MBA in Human Resources Management from Royal Roads University, a BA from Simon Fraser University, and is a certified HR Professional (CHRP) in Canada. In addition to developing global management initiatives, she has worked in senior roles for firms such as Pivotal Corp., PeopleSoft Inc., Cognos, Infohrm and Telus. Harv has spent 7 years as an esteemed instructor in the Human Resources Management Program for BCIT. In this capacity she developed and delivered the following courses: Organizational Behaviour, Recruitment and Selection, Human Resources Management, Workforce Planning, Leadership for the New Manager, Supervisor Skills, and Effective Interviewing Skills.
